About this role

Job Description:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This individual is responsible for the timely and accurate posting of all deposits and loan payments, received via U.S. mail, to member accounts. 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a basic understanding of check hold procedures and VACU’s policies as they relate to deposits (for both mail and ATM transactions).  This includes an understanding of the automated process and how to manually place check holds, if needed.
  • Ability to place applicable check holds on incoming transactions.
  • Assist with corrections to member ATM deposit transactions when discrepancies occur and send related correspondences to members.
  • Balance daily transactions to assigned individual cash box.
  • Receive and process member calls in a timely, efficient and professional manner.
  • Receive and process inquiries and research requests in a professional and timely manner. 
  • Communicate immediately to the team senior rep/supervisor any problems that may affect members and/or production.
  • Ensure that adequate controls exist for the delivery of negotiable items, to the member/branch, in the event that the item cannot be processed. 
  • Routine retention and destruction of member records based on department’s record retention schedule.
  • Maintain a sound understanding of the area’s policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all published enterprise level policies and procedures including, but not limited to, Risk Management policies.
  • Complete all required, ongoing enterprise level training including, but not limited to BSA, OFAC, and Information Security.
  • Report all Risk Management Policy violations in accordance with policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • The individual is also responsible for the timely and accurate balancing and settlement of VACU ATMs deposits.  Including but not limited to:
    • Must demonstrate a sound working knowledge of both the ATM and mail processing responsibilities. 
    • Must be able to complete daily ATM balancing (including submitting necessary JVs to Accounting).
  • Consistently displays leadership qualities when dealing with daily responsibilities, projects and/or changes in operational functions.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and a team oriented mindset.  Works

      independently & displays sound judgment in decision-making.

  • Must be able to promptly research keying errors/outages and make necessary adjustments to member accounts and offsetting GLs.
  • Must be able to process member disputes and complete all necessary Reg E related documentation.
  • Must be able to settle the on-site Waterford ATM
  • Responsible for dual-control logging captured ATM plastics that are returned to VACU by Brinks

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  • Experience with a financial institute preferred.
  • Prior ATM settlement and/ or teller experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, Data Entry)
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, deadline oriented environment while maintaining a high degree of speed and accuracy
  • Demonstrates flexibility in adapting to change
  • Maintains a good working relationship with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to resolve settlement outages with minimum supervision
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to details
  • Ability to work and resolve problems independently
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize duties
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Check hold experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

This job requires:

  • the ability to sit for long periods of time         
  • occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds and or up to 30 pounds frequently.

Salary range: $38,000 - $46,000
