About this role

Gray Residential is seeking to add a Floating/Traveling Maintenance Technician to our team!

Based in the Indianapolis area, this role will support multiple communities throughout the state by assisting with make readies, service requests, and small projects as needed. We’re looking for a dependable, self-motivated team member who enjoys variety in their day and takes pride in delivering exceptional service across our communities.

Key Responsibilities of a Successful Floating Maintenance Technician:

  • Traveling to various properties to support onsite teams with maintenance needs.
  • Completing make readies efficiently to ensure apartment homes are move-in ready.
  • Assisting with service requests, troubleshooting issues, and completing repairs in a timely manner.
  • Supporting small projects and preventative maintenance tasks as directed.
  • Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and organization in work areas and maintenance spaces.
  • Communicating effectively with property teams to understand priorities and provide updates.
  • Delivering professional and courteous service when interacting with residents and team members.
  • Following safety protocols and company standards at all times.

What We’re Looking For:

  • General knowledge of maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to different teams and communities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between properties.
  • Positive attitude and team-first mindset.
