The Opportunity

Valnet is seeking a Portfolio Associate to own the commercial, financial, and operational performance of one or more digital brands. This role blends strategic P&L ownership with hands-on execution across revenue, content, audience growth, and product monetization. You will act as the central operator for your brand(s), driving profitability, scaling commerce initiatives, and evolving the business from a single-site model into a diversified, multi-surface ecosystem.
This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy, execution, and optimization.

Key Responsibilities

P&L & Commercial Ownership
  • Own full P&L performance at the EBITDA level, identifying opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization.
  • Manage and scale commerce, affiliate, newsletter, sponsorship, and emerging revenue streams.
  • Develop and expand repeatable business offerings such as commerce hubs, newsletters, evergreen content products, and landing-page funnels.
Revenue & Growth Strategy
  • Identify, launch, and manage direct affiliate partnerships to drive high-intent traffic, leads, and conversions.
  • Build and optimize high-intent funnels across sites, newsletters, landing pages, and utility experiences.
  • Partner with performance marketing and sales teams to maximize RPM, CVR, retention, and lifetime value.
  • Integrate commerce and sponsorship placements while maintaining audience trust and editorial integrity.
Content, Product & Audience Development
  • Collaborate with editorial leaders to align content strategy with user intent, conversion performance, and growth priorities.
  • Define scalable content and commerce formats that reduce decision friction and improve monetization.
  • Lead the transition from a single-site model to a multi-product, multi-surface brand ecosystem.
  • Oversee newsletter programming, segmentation, growth loops, and optimization.
Operational Excellence & Analysis
  • Allocate budgets strategically to support growth initiatives and long-term profitability.
  • Monitor KPIs across revenue, traffic, engagement, and conversion; provide clear reporting and actionable insights.
  • Ensure tracking accuracy, link integrity, and performance visibility across templates and products.
  • Continuously improve processes, workflows, and execution speed across teams.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Act as the primary operator and strategic lead for assigned brand(s).
  • Work cross-functionally with Editorial, Product, Sales, Performance Marketing, and Leadership.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, experimentation, and performance.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in digital publishing, e-commerce, portfolio management, performance marketing, strategy, or operations.
  • Proven experience owning revenue initiatives and driving measurable growth.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen with hands-on P&L experience.
  • Deep understanding of content monetization, audience development, and digital growth models.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-ownership environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Benefits

  • Full health insurance plan (including medical, dental, and vision)
  • Daily on-site snacks & coffee
  • Fitness subscription reimbursement program
  • Competitive salary and bonus structure
  • High autonomy with clear ownership and growth potential
