Job Summary:
The Vault Clerk is responsible for handling, recording, and securing cash, valuables, or sensitive documents within a vault or secure facility. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate records of transactions and ensuring compliance with security and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, verify, and record incoming cash, coin, checks, or other valuables.
- Prepare and package outgoing orders for distribution or transfer.
- Maintain detailed records of all vault activity including inventory logs and transaction reports.
- Balance vault contents daily and reconcile any discrepancies.
- Monitor security protocols and report any suspicious activity immediately.
- Operate cash counting machines and other equipment used in vault operations.
- Assist with audits and inventory counts as needed.
- Adhere strictly to company policies, security procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Support other team members and departments as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
- Previous experience in cash handling, banking, or secure operations is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic math and computer skills (Excel, inventory systems, etc.).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Must pass background check and drug screening.
Working Conditions:
- Secure and highly controlled environment.
- May require early mornings, late evenings, weekends, or holiday shifts depending on operations.
- Frequent interaction with armored transport, banks, or financial institutions.
