Desert Tails Animal Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Hospital Manager to partner with our new Medical Director during an exciting period of growth and transformation. As our Hospital Manager, you'll work side by side with our new Medical Director and leadership team to shape the hospital's culture, lead daily operations, coach and develop team members, and implement new ideas that support both our staff and our long-term success. Key Responsibilities Include:
- Financial Leadership: Monitor hospital performance, manage budgets, oversee payroll and financial operations, and drive business growth through data-informed decisions.
- Operational Oversight: Ensure efficient workflow, maintain regulatory compliance (OSHA, DEA, VMB), manage equipment and inventory, and implement hospital policies and procedures.
- Strategic Direction: Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute long-term goals, expand services, and support referral and business partnerships.
- Project & Facility Management: Lead day-to-day operations, scheduling, and maintenance while aligning administrative functions with overall hospital objectives.
- Client & Community Engagement: Oversee marketing strategies, resolve client concerns, enhance client experience, and foster retention and growth.
- Team Leadership: Manage and support department leads, oversee hiring and development, maintain staffing levels, and promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
Schedule, benefits and compensation**:
- This is a full-time, salaried position and schedule flexibility is required based on business needs.
- Compensation: $60,000-70,000 annual base salary*
- Bi-annual bonus opportunities: Based on hospital performance
- Hiring bonus package: Up to $2000 based on experience and credentials
- CE allowance: up to $1,000 based on credentials

Your Qualifications:
- 5+ years of leadership, business management, or operations management experience required.
- Veterinary hospital management experience strongly preferred; medical, dental, or healthcare practice management experience also considered.
- Previous veterinary experience (e.g., Veterinary Technician) required.
- Bachelor's degree, Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM), or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
- Experience managing budgets, staffing, scheduling, and day-to-day operations.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficient with business software and able to adapt quickly to new systems.
