Vice President Customer Engineering
About this role
FICO (NYSE: FICO) is a leading global analytics software company, helping businesses in 100+ countries make better decisions. Join our world-class team today and fulfill your career potential!
The Opportunity
This hybrid executive role calls for a unique leader who is fifty percent market-facing revenue accelerator and fifty percent internal engineering builder. You will serve as the company's elite technical authority in front of Fortune 500 customers, co-selling and architecting high-value AI solutions alongside the sales team to drive new ARR, while simultaneously leading, scaling, and operationalizing our internal engineering organization to deliver the platform capabilities required to support those enterprise wins. The mission: to aggressively drive enterprise market expansion and ARR growth by serving as the executive technical closer for strategic deals, while scaling a world-class AI engineering organization capable of shipping production-grade, secure software.
What You'll Contribute
- Partner directly with Sales Leadership to act as the primary executive technical resource, compressing enterprise sales cycles for FICO’s largest strategic customers.
- Co-create, whiteboard, and formalize production-grade AI architectures for complex, multi-cloud enterprise deployments that satisfy client CIOs, CISOs, and Chief Data Officers.
- Serve as a public-facing key opinion leader by speaking at major AI infrastructure conferences, authoring technical whitepapers, and engaging with industry analysts such as Gartner and Forrester to position the company as a tier-1 market provider.
- Systematically capture market demands, security blockers, and feature requests from the field, translating them into prioritized product roadmap requirements for internal engineering.
- Recruit, mentor, and retain top-tier talent across full-stack, AI infrastructure, and MLOps disciplines, growing the organization to meet enterprise demands without diluting culture.
- Implement rigorous agile processes and software delivery metrics to ensure enterprise features, compliance updates, and AI models are continuously tested, validated, and shipped on schedule.
- Oversee the core codebase, cloud infrastructure topologies, and GPU/compute budgets to maintain high gross margin efficiency while supporting heavy client workloads.
What We're Seeking
Exceptional executive presence and commercial acumen, with the ability to command a boardroom, confidently whiteboard deep technical concepts to non-technical C-suite buyers, and handle intense commercial and technical objections.
Mastery of deal strategy and scoping, translating ambiguous customer business problems into concrete, well-scoped proofs of concept that clearly demonstrate ROI and tie directly back to core platform capabilities.
Expertise in LLM orchestration and frameworks, including LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, and custom multi-agent execution workflows.
Deep understanding of vector databases and enterprise RAG, including Milvus, Qdrant, Pinecone, or pgvector, to build advanced, secure retrieval-augmented generation architectures.
Experience with model lifecycle and MLOps tools, including Weights & Biases, MLflow, Kubeflow, Triton Inference Server, and Hugging Face ecosystems.
Architecture experience with data pipelines and data gravity, including Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Spark, and high-throughput enterprise data pipelines.
Authoritative knowledge of deploying AI within highly regulated frameworks, including SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, GDPR, FedRAMP, and the EU AI Act.
Proficiency in core engineering languages, including Python for production-grade AI logic, Go or Rust for high-performance backend systems, and TypeScript/Node.js.
Experience with cloud topologies, including AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes (EKS/GKE), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) in hybrid-cloud settings.
