About the role
As one of Australia's leading health, aged care and community service organisations, we're investing in our data, analytics and AI capabilities to enable better decisions, improve care outcomes, and support innovation across the organisation.
We're looking for a Visualisation Engineer to join our growing Data, AI & Analytics team and help transform complex data into clear, trusted and actionable insights. You'll design, build and optimise enterprise reporting and dashboard solutions that support decision-making across HammondCare.
Working closely with business stakeholders, analysts and data engineers, you'll translate data into meaningful visual stories, creating intuitive dashboards and reports that drive operational performance and strategic outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in major enterprise initiatives while helping establish best practices for reporting, data visualisation and self-service analytics.
This position is a 12 month contract based at St Leonards with hybrid working opportunities.
Key Responsibilities include
Design and develop engaging dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI
Build and maintain scalable semantic models and reporting datasets
Transform business requirements into practical, user-friendly visualisation solutions
Apply visual design, storytelling and user experience principles to create impactful analytics products
Optimise report performance, usability and scalability
Collaborate with business teams to define requirements and improve reporting outcomes
Ensure reporting quality, consistency and alignment with governance standards
Support adoption of analytics tools and enable greater self-service reporting capability Contribute to visualisation standards, reusable templates and KPI definitions

About You
Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
Proven experience developing dashboards and visualisation solutions using BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
Strong capability in SQL, data modelling, and tools such as DAX to support reporting performance and usability
Ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights
Experience working directly with stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience applying user experience (UX) and visual design best practices in reporting solutions
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail in a reporting and analytics environment
Effective communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
Desired
Experience applying user experience (UX) and visual design best practices in reporting solutions
Familiarity with enterprise data environments and working alongside data engineering teams
Experience supporting adoption of reporting tools and enabling self‑service analytics capabilities
Exposure to data governance frameworks and standardised KPI definitions
Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging visualisation tools and practice
