VP Program Management
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE
- Establish the structure and operating rhythm necessary to advance complex enterprise initiatives.
- Coordinate multiple interrelated projects and workstreams to ensure collective delivery against program objectives.
- Maintain focus on intended business outcomes and proactively adjust priorities and approach as program needs evolve.
- Drive disciplined execution and accountability across program participants.
- Manage dependencies across business units, functions, IT teams, vendors, and enterprise stakeholders.
- Identify gaps in ownership and facilitate resolution before they impact program outcomes.
- Bring together the right stakeholders to resolve issues, make decisions, and advance the initiative.
- Ensure individual projects and workstreams remain aligned with overall program objectives.
- Leads staff in achieving project objectives, timelines and cost.
- Identifies required resources and researches project data, procedures, and history for a thorough understanding of project direction.
- Establishes strategic project plans with goals, objectives and budgets.
- Prepare executive-level updates emphasizing outcomes, decisions, risks, and required actions rather than activity reporting.
- Develop and maintain an integrated view of program health, dependencies, risks, and critical decisions.
- Identify emerging risks and barriers early and drive appropriate mitigation.
- Escalate issues requiring executive intervention with clear options, implications, and recommendations.
- Ensure decisions translate into accountable action.
- Share best practices across the Program Management team and support development of Project Managers and other transformation resources.
- Participates in oral presentations to senior leadership and executive to gain commitment and support on go-forward strategy.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Travels as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides support, guidance, leadership and motivation to promote maximum performance.
- Administers company personnel policies in all areas and follows company staffing standards and training recommendations.
- Interviews, hires and establishes colleague performance development plans; conducts colleague performance discussions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in insurance, finance, or project management from an accredited college or university required.
PMP, PgMP, MSP, Lean Six Sigma, or similar credentials are helpful but not required.
MBA preferred.
Experience
- 12+ years of progressively responsible experience in program management, transformation, strategy execution, operations, consulting, or related enterprise leadership roles. required
- Demonstrated experience leading complex initiatives involving multiple functions and interconnected workstreams.
- Experience working directly with senior executives and functional leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes without direct authority.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with disciplined execution and results orientation.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and rapidly evolving environments.
- Demonstrated experience establishing governance and execution frameworks.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations and actions.
- Experience working across business and technology organizations.
