Job Purpose The Welder is responsible for carrying out welding, fabrication, and metal repair works on company vehicles, trailers, containers, and other transportation-related equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with operational standards. Key Duties and Responsibilities; Perform welding and fabrication works on trucks, trailers, buses, fuel tanks, containers, chassis, and body parts Repair cracks, broken joints, frames, exhaust systems, and structural components Carry out cutting, grinding, fitting, and shaping of metal parts using hand and power tools Read and interpret basic engineering drawings and specifications Inspect welded joints to ensure strength, quality, and safety standards are met Conduct preventive maintenance welding works to minimize vehicle downtime. Ensure all welding activities comply with safety, quality, and company procedures Maintain welding tools, equipment, and consumables in good working condition. Follow proper safety practices including use of PPE at all times Support emergency breakdown repairs when required Keep basic records of work completed and materials used Requirements Minimum Certificate or Trade Test in Welding, Metal Fabrication, or related field At least 2–5 years of welding experience, preferably in a transportation, logistics, or heavy equipment environment Proficiency in ARC welding, MIG, and gas welding (TIG is an added advantage) Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision Strong technical welding and fabrication skills Good understanding of vehicle structural components Attention to detail and workmanship quality Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Good teamwork and communication skills High level of safety awareness
