The Opportunity 

We are looking for a Workshop Technician to join our Customer Experience team. 

Based in our workshop in Melbourne, you'll play an important role in diagnosing, repairing, and testing Fisher & Paykel appliances to ensure they are returned to customers in optimal working condition. You'll work with a range of premium products, utilise your technical expertise to solve complex problems, and contribute to delivering an exceptional end-to-end customer experience.

What You'll Be Doing 

  • Diagnose, evaluate, repair, and test domestic appliances, ensuring high-quality repairs and reliable product performance. 

  • Determine appropriate repair solutions and prepare accurate repair assessments and quotations for customers. 

  • Complete service documentation, customer records, repair reports, and other administrative requirements accurately and efficiently. 

  • Maintain inventory, spare parts, and workshop resources to support efficient operations and timely repair turnaround. 

  • Support customers and internal teams by providing technical expertise and delivering exceptional service outcomes. 

  • Continuously develop your technical expertise through ongoing training, service manuals, and hands-on learning opportunities. 

  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements, ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures. 

What We're Looking For 

We're looking for a technically capable and customer-focused individual who enjoys problem-solving and takes pride in delivering quality outcomes. 

You'll bring: 

  • Electrical Safety Licence (Victorian Restricted Electrical Worker's Licence), Refrigerant Handling Licence (ARCtick), or the ability to obtain one, highly regarded. 

  • Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing appliances, electronics, or related products. 

  • The ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and service documentation. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to fault finding and repair work. 

  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship. 

  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with a range of customers and internal stakeholders. 

  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and digital service systems. 

  • A collaborative attitude with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities. 

  • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
