Youth & Family Program Lead

The Youth and Family Program Lead works in collaboration with the Outdoor Pursuits department and all Club personnel to deliver exceptional programming, events, and activities for youth, families, and members across Madison Club. This role ensures the highest standards of safety, service, and experience through personal, gracious, and professional engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversight and management of the Youth and Family Programming team, including all events, activities, curriculum, and family-oriented programming across the Club

  • Collaborate with Club management to continually evolve and innovate youth, family, and member programming, amenities, and experiences offered across the Club.

  • Works alongside Club management to oversee day-to-day operations and act as Manager on Duty for the department as needed

  • Develop and maintain a planned activity calendar of lessons, games, events, and experiences for youth, family, and all-member programming throughout the season.

  • Coordinate the development of direct reports, deliver on-the-job-training and coach individual team members to develop their skills

  • Oversight and management of department budgets and expenses across all Youth and Family Programming activities and operations.

  • Implementation and oversight of safety policies and compliance from staff and members.

  • Active participation in programming with members, prospects, and families, including games, sports, outdoor pursuits, and creative activities.

  • Accompany and supervise participants to off-site events and safely transport them in a company vehicle.

  • Participate in overnight camping experiences on property as requested. 

  • Safely transport youth and family participants to and from activities throughout the property in a golf cart or company vehicle. 

  • Maintain an organized appearance of the OP and camp area throughout the day. 

  • Complete daily set-up/breakdown of department activities per the departments SOP.

  • Maintain a detailed inventory of all department equipment, supplies, and Club assets

  • Demonstrate or train others on safe and effective usage of all Outdoor Pursuits activities.

  • Attend morning meetings and run daily department briefings.

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute Club-wide family events, member experiences, and seasonal programming in partnership with other departments.

  • Support and assist in the delivery of all Outdoor Pursuits activities across the Club, serving as a resource across disciplines as needed.

  • Conduct pre-use inspections on all Club assets and equipment prior to daily operations and perform scheduled weekly and monthly condition assessments in accordance with department SOPs.

  • Any other duties as assigned.

Administrative & Planning

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive annual programming calendar, including scheduling, activity planning, and seasonal programming rotations.

  • Manage department billing, activity charges, and expense reconciliation in coordination with the finance team.

  • Maintain accurate records of member participation, activity logs, incident reports, and staff certifications.

  • Prepare and submit regular departmental reports, including weekly activity summaries and monthly performance updates to Club management.

  • Support department budgeting processes including annual forecasting, ongoing expense tracking, and variance reporting.

  • Coordinate staff scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage across all youth, family, and event programming.

Qualifications

  • No specific degree required — though a Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Education, Hospitality, or a related field may be desirable.

  • CIT/Counselor experience desired.

  • Previous experience in the guest service industry.

  • CPR, First Aid, AED Certification required. 

  • Must be strong swimmer capable and comfortable swimming in the ocean

  • Must have prior experience in outdoor education, activity programming, or event coordination with guests and families of varying ages.

  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.

  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

The Company’s good faith estimate of the hourly rate it expects to pay for this role is $23-$25 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
