Not every learner thrives within a traditional classroom environment. Some young people need a personalised approach, delivered by a skilled tutor who can build trust, restore confidence and help them re-engage with education.

Simply Education is recruiting an experienced 1:1 Outreach Tutor to support a Year 13 learner currently accessing education through an alternative provision pathway in Oldham. This rewarding opportunity will involve delivering tailored tuition within a community setting, helping a young person develop essential skills and achieve positive educational outcomes.

The successful candidate will provide support across five days per week, delivering approximately three hours of tuition per day while working closely with the learner to promote engagement, confidence and academic progress.

What the Role Involves

• Delivering 1:1 outreach tuition within a community setting
• Supporting a Year 13 learner through personalised learning
• Teaching Functional Skills English and Maths
• Delivering academic support tailored to individual needs
• Providing mentoring and confidence-building support
• Creating engaging and differentiated learning activities
• Supporting re-engagement with education
• Monitoring and recording learner progress
• Building a consistent and positive professional relationship

What We Need From You

• Qualified Teacher, HLTA or experienced Outreach Tutor
• Experience delivering 1:1 tuition
• Strong Functional Skills English and Maths knowledge
• Experience working within alternative provision environments
• Experience supporting learners with SEND, SEMH or behavioural needs
• Understanding of challenging behaviour and engagement strategies
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Patient, adaptable and resilient approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
