1st Coat Sealing TMO/Labourer

Mō te tūranga | About the role

We’re looking for an experienced 1st Coat Sealing TMO/Labourer to join our team on the West Coast IDC contract. This is a hands-on role for someone who knows road surfacing, works well in a crew, and takes pride in doing Good Work.

You’ll be part of a team delivering essential maintenance and sealing work across the region. It’s practical, physical work with a strong safety focus, solid standards, and a crew that backs each other to get the job done right.

The West Coast IDC contract involves roading maintenance, renewals and operational work for 870kms of state highways within the district, stretching from Haast in the south to Mokihinui in the north, and across to the main divide of the Southern Alps.
 

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

• Support 1st coat sealing operations across the West Coast IDC contract.
• Carry out traffic management duties in line with approved plans and site requirements.
• Assist with site set-up, pack-down, labouring, and general crew support.
• Help maintain safe, efficient work sites while working around live traffic and active road environments.
• Work closely with the sealing crew to deliver quality outcomes on time and to standard.

Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with

• Proven experience in road surfacing, chip sealing, or civil construction labouring.
• Current TMO qualification and relevant traffic management competency.
• A Class 1 full licence at minimum, with WTR or Class 2/4 licences viewed favourably.
• A strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and doing quality work every day.
• Flexibility to turn your hand to different tasks as the day changes.
• A willingness to learn and advance current skills to meet contract objectives.
