Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Engineer. This position will be located at our Space Systems Sector in Dulles, VA.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Eastern Engineering

The Mechanical Engineer will work on all spacecraft structures and mechanical hardware from requirements all the way through integration and test. The candidate will perform detailed design tasks using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and other software tools to develop and document designs for manufacturing and ultimately assembly into spacecraft. The role involves interfacing and communicating with customers, program and functional management, other spacecraft engineering disciplines, and component suppliers. Skills include, but not limited to, Computer Aided Design (CAD), knowledge and application of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T), 3D Printing, Design for Manufacturing, Mechanics of Metallic / Composite Materials, Stress Calculations, and Spacecraft Component Layout.

 

Basic Qualifications for an Associate Mechanical Engineer:

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

• Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
• Be majoring in or having majored in a Mechanical Engineering or related STEM degree.
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).

 

Basic Qualifications for Mechanical Engineer:
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

• Be completing or has completed their Master's Degree from an accredited institution.
• Be majoring in or having majored in a Mechanical Engineering or related STEM degree.
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).

Preferred Qualifications for both levels:

• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0 or higher.

Salary Ranges:

Associate Engineer: $66,200 - $99,200

Engineer: $79,600 - $119,400
