  • Manage and support integration of new tooling from design through sustainment
  • Support critical production builds involving technical tooling processes
  • Provide communication to Integrated Product Team (IPT) leaders regarding cost and schedule including escalation of any technical issues.
  • Work intimately with Manufacturing Engineering to deliver tools that meet product build requirements.
  • Manage external Tooling Design/Fabrication Shops on Design/Build projects
  • Use Microsoft applications to communicate and present tooling progress
  • Support Tool Design tasks which include 3D modeling, 2D drafting and checking
  • Concept and design special tooling within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) structure
  • Uses and/or manages Computer Aided Design (CAD) resources for tooling design (primarily NX)
  • Provides tooling cost/schedule estimates for new tools and or tooling modifications

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Tooling Engineer Interview to join the Aeronautics Systems Intern Program. This position will be located in Clearfield, UT. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector in the Aerostructures group.

The selected candidate will perform the following, including, but not limited to:

  • Manage and support integration of new tooling from design through sustainment

Basic Qualifications

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university AND graduating after August 2027.

  • Be majoring in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.

  • Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027

Preferred Qualifications

Intern Pay Range

  • Undergraduate degrees (Including graduating students planning on attending/enrolled in a full-time Master’s program): $18.50 to $33.50 per hour

  • Master’s: $26.25 to $41.50 per hour
