What you'll do

  • You advance our 300mm epitaxy characterization capabilities by establishing new material characterization methods and further developing our existing methods.
  • As the expert you guide and mentor our engineers in state-of-the art characterization techniques for thin films and epitaxy, advanced process control and statistical data analysis.
  • You harmonize and standardize our measurement processes / recipes end ensure stable measurements and comparable results.
  • You bring in your industry experience from 300mm semiconductor manufacturing or R&D and help us succeed bringing our material systems to these fabs.
  • With your experience you have a vital contribution to the companies long term objectives and goals. You will shape how epitaxy is characterized in the future and guide our development programs towards 300mm industry standards.
  • You will collaborate closely with our customers and suppliers to establish frontier characterization and measurement methods to meet future epitaxy metrology demands.
  • You will actively scout for new metrology tools and methods to ensure our competitiveness and fitness with customer expectations. For this you will be in active contact with leading metrology tool suppliers. You specify new tools and shape our short-term and long-term metrology roadmap and budget planning.
  • By improving our measurement capability and stability, your role is vital to accelerate our time-to-market.

  • You have a PhD or Masters degree in physics, electrical engineer, material science or an adjacent field.
  • You have 5+ years’ experience in the semiconductor industry or a R’n’D lab, preferable directly working with a wide range of metrology tools.
  • You have hands-on (3+ years) experience working in a 300mm semiconductor environment.
  • Your knowledge of semiconductor physics and a wide range of thin film / epitaxy characterization methods is the foundation of your skills.
  • You know how to write a python script or skillfully prompt an AI to do so.
  • You have a hands-on mentality and strong execution skills.
  • You are self-driven and do not find peace until you have fully understood a problem.
  • You have a growth mindset; always keen to learn new things and challenge the status-quo.

Nice to have

  • Experience in particle and trace metal contamination measurements are a bonus.
  • Experience working with Advanced Process Control or Yield Management tools is a plus.
  • Formal statistical training (6-sigma, etc.) is a bonus, 6-sigma black belt even more.
