Your next career opportunity 
Melbourne Law School invites applications for an academic position within the Indigenous Law and Justice Hub. The level of appointment will be commensurate with the successful applicant’s qualifications, experience and academic profile.

The successful applicant will contribute to the School’s teaching, research, engagement, leadership and service, bringing expertise in any area of law relevant to the work of the Indigenous Law and Justice Hub.

What you will deliver: 

• Teaching in the Melbourne Juris Doctor, Melbourne Law Masters and, where appropriate, undergraduate Breadth programs.
• Contributing to curriculum and subject development, particularly in relation to law and Indigenous peoples.
• Supervising coursework and/or higher degree research students, as appropriate to level and experience.
• Undertaking high-quality, nationally and internationally significant legal research and publishing in leading outlets.
• Contributing to research projects, grant activity and knowledge exchange.
• Supporting an engaging, inclusive and high-quality student learning experience.
• Building relationships and partnerships through the Indigenous Law and Justice Hub and contributing to community and professional engagement.
• Contributing to the collegial life, leadership and service of Melbourne Law School and the University, with more senior appointments expected to make a significant contribution to Indigenous strategy and cultural capability.

You may be a great fit if you: 

• A strong academic background in law and relevant postgraduate qualifications, including a PhD or equivalent (or equivalent professional experience where applicable).
• A developing, established or internationally recognised record of legal research and publication, commensurate with level.
• Teaching experience and a commitment to high-quality legal education and student outcomes.
• The capacity to contribute to research, engagement, leadership and service.
• A commitment to collegiality, diversity and inclusion, and maintaining a culturally safe workplace.
• Relevant professional experience, networks and/or expertise in legal education and educational technologies will be highly regarded.
