Job Description

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with local accounting and tax regulations, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. The role works closely with local and international stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and general ledger accounting.
• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accounting records in accordance with local GAAP and company policies.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and investigate accounting discrepancies.
• Assist with statutory reporting, VAT returns, tax-related filings, and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with Czech accounting regulations and internal controls.
• Support cash management and treasury activities as required.
• Collaborate with Finance, Payroll, Procurement, and other internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and support accounting system enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in Accounting, General Ledger, or Financial Reporting.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of Czech accounting standards; IFRS experience is an advantage.
• Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or similar.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Fluent Czech and good working proficiency in English.
• Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
