Accountant Location: West London Contract: Temporary (3 months initial) Salary: £28.96 per hour umbrella / £26.02 PAYE Inclusive / £23.22 PAYE Exclusive Start Date: ASAP Contact: rachel.burgess@servicecare.org.uk Job Description Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in London for an Accountant to join the team on a temporary basis. The postholder will provide high-quality financial support and advice across a range of council services, strengthening financial governance and contributing to effective decision-making within a complex public sector environment. Key Responsibilities Manage budgets, forecasts, monitoring and year-end accounts for allocated services. Provide financial advice to managers and senior stakeholders, ensuring regulatory compliance. Maintain financial systems, controls and processes in line with best practice and CIPFA guidance. Prepare financial analysis, grant claims, statutory returns and management reports. Candidate Criteria Qualified Accounting Technician or equivalent relevant experience Experience in local government finance, or a complex public/private sector environment Strong Excel and systems such as Power BI, analytical and financial management skills. Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving abilities.
