  • Prepare and review bank receipt vouchers to match incoming wire transfers and transfers between bank accounts.
  • Manage the monthly closing process by analyzing accounts and preparing adjusting journal entries.
  • Lead financial audits, including preparing various audit schedules.
  • Form 990 preparation and submission

  • Maintain document retention in accordance with PFSCM policies and procedures.

The Partnership for Supply Chain Management (PFSCM) focuses on strengthening and managing secure, reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable global supply chains to enhance health and well-being in low- and middle-income countries by increasing access to quality and affordable health products. Overall responsibilities

The Accounting Lead is responsible for providing direction and support to the accounting unit processes. The Accounting Lead is expected to manage the monthly close process including journal entries, reviews, and reconciliations of general ledger accounts. The Lead is also responsible for providing detailed analysis and reporting of expenses to the Finance/Accounting and other PFSCM Units. The Accounting Lead is expected to identify continuous improvement opportunities and direct and manage accounting administration within the Finance & Accounting Team. The Lead is responsible for team performance on key performance indicators and staff management, development, support, and coaching of Staff Accountants and accounting-related positions.

 

Specific responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and manage standard operating procedures and work   instructions, including continuous improvement reviews and updates.
  • Manage staff performance and periodically evaluate the performance of individual staff.
  • Develop and maintain an onboarding training program and regular refresher training for internal teams, new hires, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on processes and SOPs.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to increase team capacity and maintain performance.

Qualifications

Professional and Technical Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant field required. CPA is required.
  • 8+ years’ of accounting experience, including using a computerized accounting system.
  • Experience with international donor agencies or government is a plus.
  • Strong action management, including the ability to manage projects in the most cost-efficient manner, resourcefulness, initiative, maturity of judgment, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressing conditions.
