A well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice in Gainsborough is looking to hire a Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA) to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practice professional to take ownership of a varied client portfolio, with the support of a firm known for its excellent culture, continuous development, and genuine team collaboration.

The role You’ll manage a portfolio of clients (owner-managed businesses and SMEs), taking a lead role in the preparation of statutory accounts and ensuring compliance across HMRC requirements. Depending on experience and interest, you may also support the audit work for some of the firm’s larger clients.

Key responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of practice clients and building strong, trusted relationships
• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts (limited companies and wider practice clients)
• Ensuring HMRC compliance across relevant filings and deadlines
• Supporting clients with queries and providing practical, proactive advice
• Assisting with (or participating in) audit assignments for larger clients where required
• Working closely with colleagues to maintain high standards and improve processes

What we’re looking for

• ACA or ACCA qualified 
• Strong experience within an accountancy practice 
• Confident preparing statutory accounts and managing deadlines/compliance
• Comfortable managing a client portfolio and communicating clearly with stakeholders
• Audit exposure is beneficial (not essential)
• A collaborative mindset and interest in continued learning and development
