About this role

Survey Solutions Group is continuing to grow through acquisition, and we are looking for an Acquisition & Integration Accountant to play a key role in successfully integrating newly acquired businesses into the Group.

This is a finance-led role with a broad remit across acquisition integration, financial controls, reporting, payroll, insurance and operational processes. You will work closely with the CFO, finance leadership team, acquired business management and external advisers to ensure acquisitions are integrated effectively, risks are identified and Group standards are embedded.

The role will suit a qualified accountant, newly qualified accountant or strong finalist with a commercial mindset, excellent attention to detail and an interest in working in a fast-paced, acquisitive business.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and maintain post-acquisition integration plans, ensuring actions, owners, deadlines and risks are clearly tracked.
    • Translate due diligence findings and completion actions into practical integration workstreams.
    • Support the integration of acquired businesses into Group finance structures, including management accounts, reporting, reconciliations, cash reporting and financial controls.
    • Support completion accounts, opening balances and acquisition accounting activities.
    • Coordinate finance-owned payroll integration, ensuring accurate data, coding, reconciliations and timely cutovers.
    • Review financial processes including purchase-to-pay, billing, credit control, expenses, supplier payments and delegated authority.
    • Review operational processes that impact financial performance and reporting, identifying control gaps, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
    • Support the integration of insurance, fleet, equipment, assets and related records.
    • Monitor key financial and operational risks, including working capital, WIP, billing, cash conversion and reporting quality.
    • Prepare clear integration updates, dashboards and progress reports for the CFO and senior leadership team.
    • Work with acquired businesses and Group teams to implement consistent processes, controls and reporting standards.
    • Capture lessons learned and help continually improve the Group's acquisition integration playbook.

About You

You will be a commercially aware and highly organised finance professional who is comfortable working in detail while also understanding the wider operational picture.

You'll ideally have:

    • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification, or be a strong finalist with relevant experience.
    • Strong understanding of management accounts, balance sheets, working capital, cash, reconciliations, payroll and financial controls.
    • Experience working within a small or mid-sized, multi-site or operational business environment.
    • Strong Excel skills and the ability to produce clear analysis, trackers and reporting.
    • Experience improving finance processes, controls, reporting or documentation.
    • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, stakeholders and priorities.
    • Confidence communicating with senior stakeholders, business leaders, external advisers and operational teams.
    • A hands-on approach and willingness to get into the detail to resolve issues and keep projects moving.
    • The confidence to challenge data, assumptions, delays and weak controls constructively.

Experience of M&A, acquisition integration, transaction services, audit, financial due diligence or post-acquisition finance integration would be advantageous.
