Job Description for Regulation Management (EX)

Job Role:

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Indian and international motor vehicle regulations, with a strong focus on electric vehicles and emerging mobility solutions. The role involves active participation in regulatory discussions, interpretation of standards, and supporting type approval and COP (Conformity of Production) processes for vehicles and components.

Qualification:

• M-Tech, BE/B-Tech (Mechanical or Electrical)

Experience:

• 8-10 years

Work Experience:

• Good knowledge about CMVR, AIS, IS, ECE, EEC and Other international regulations of motor vehicles.

• Familiar with Electric vehicles regulations.

• Good understanding of Indian and International motor vehicle Type Approval and COP processes. Candidate with vehicle testing field experience will have added advantage.

• Inclination towards study of motor vehicle regulations and their interpretation.

• Knowledge about SIAM activities, AISC/CMVR-TSC/ SCOE activities, BIS/TED activities, standards making, etc.

• Good connect with ministries and testing agencies.

• Exposure to WP.29, IMMA activities for international regulations making.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Regulatory Compliance & Standards: Monitor, analyze, and interpret CMVR, AIS, IS, ECE, EEC, WP.29, IMMA and other relevant automotive regulations to ensure product compliance.
  • Electric Vehicle Regulations: Provide expertise on EV-specific regulatory requirements, including battery safety, performance standards, and Govt. policies.
  • Liaison & Representation: Represent the organization in industry forums such as SIAM, BIS/TED, AISC/CMVR-TSC/SCOE activities, and other national/international committees. Build strong relationships with ministries, regulatory authorities, and standard-making bodies.
  • Policy Advocacy: Track global automotive regulatory developments and provide inputs to internal stakeholders and policymakers to shape standards and future regulations.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, R&D, product development, and certification teams to ensure seamless integration of regulatory requirements into product design and development.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with evolving trends in global vehicle regulations, safety standards, and sustainable mobility practices.

This role demands a proactive individual with strong technical knowledge, analytical thinking, and the ability to influence and engage with both industry and regulatory stakeholders.
