Job Role & Responsibilities

Role:

• To ensure the Lighting system development / Plastic Parts Design / Sheetmetal Design for all projects &

            coordination with cross functional teams.

• Design lighting system and parts like headlamp, tail lamp, indictor lamps etc as per

            performance/ quality/ cost/ weight targets and ensure manufacturing requirements.

            Ensure compliance to regulatory norms.

• RFQ generation, Vendor evaluation & Design review.
• Coordinate with Electrical/electronics teams to define interface requirement.
• Layout and packaging of parts in vehicle from concept stage till final design,

           considering all functionality, manufacturability, cost & styling intent.

• Conduct DR, FMEA (system/ design) and apply all such tools in the design phase
• Define performance and reliability test parameters, procedures for such parts.

           Define DVP and ensure compliance / completion.

• Keep track of global trends in relevant technology, regulations and develop long term

            road maps and appropriate work plan

• Benchmarking and generation of ideas for better performance, quality, cost, weight
• Root cause analysis for quality issues, warranty cases using QC tools and

           countermeasure action

• Define overall activity schedule for all projects, monitor the same periodically and

            ensure adherence to schedule.

Competency Requirements

Technical/ Functional

• • Proficient in all tools for lamps design, layout (lamp internal, vehicle side), optical

           design/ simulation and CAD tool, preferably Unigraphics.

• • Thorough in fundamentals and design concepts for lighting, including all types of light

            source like bulb, LED etc.

• • Fully conversant with automotive industry standards and regulations, applicable

            globally for 2-4 Wheeler.

• • Product lifecycle management system
  • Knowledge in ISO/ TS standards for design, environment, information security and

            functional safety.

• • Exposure to lamps/ bulbs/ LED manufacturing and validation facilities, hands on

           testing/ test set-up experience.

• • Knowledge of various Plastic materials for automotive lamps and their selection.
  • Understanding of electronics, EVs would be an advantage.
