What you'll do

  • Develop analytics that generate investment insights and improve affiliate investment manager effectiveness.
  • Build a deep understanding of affiliate investment strategies and workflows.
  • Proactively research and propose new analytic methodologies; identify opportunities to enhance decision-making and expand our analytics offering. Serve as a thought leader in investment analytics.
  • Collaborate with investment managers and senior leadership to iterate on proofs of concept.
  • Partner with the Platform and Methodology Team to productionalize and scale these analytics.
  • Leverage financial datasets and tools to create and enrich analytics. Current analytics include performance, attribution, portfolio risk and exposure, machine learning stock screeners, hypothetical scenario analysis, competitor analysis, liquidity risk, trade monitoring, ESG scoring frameworks, fee analysis, etc.
  • Investigate and resolve complex issues using your strong understanding of analytics methodologies.
  • Explain business logic and technical concepts clearly, adjusting your communication style for a given audience.
  • Apply AI where it adds value, such as, in financial modelling, anomaly detection, and natural-language database querying.

Are you interested in joining one of Canada’s top-performing asset managers? We are looking for an Analyst to join our Investment Insights (II) team. In this position you will work with investment teams to create analytics that generate actionable insights. You will leverage your knowledge of investment analytics and data science to improve affiliate’s investment processes. You will contribute across the full analytics delivery lifecycle with a focus on design and development. What You Will Do

Experience with Python, SQL, AI programming assistants (e.g. GitHub Copilot), automation and scheduling platforms (e.g. VisualCron, Prefect), data platforms (e.g. Databricks, Microsoft Fabric), and data visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau) is an asset. Experience developing AI solutions is an asset.

The salary range for this position is $85,000-$120,000. The salary range provided reflects the base salary range for this position as required by legislation. In addition, there is an annual performance bonus which contributes to the total compensation for this position. Further questions may be directed to the HR team during the interview process.
