Apprentice Auto Electrician | Dawson Mine

Dawson Mine is seeking motivated and safety-focused individuals to join our team as Apprentice Auto Electricians. This is an exciting opportunity for Moura and Banana Shire residents to earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience maintaining and repairing some of the largest and most advanced mining equipment in Australia.

Job Description

During this 4-year apprenticeship, you’ll be working alongside experienced tradespeople, you will complete a nationally recognised qualification while developing the skills needed for a rewarding career in the mining industry.

Apprentice Auto Electrician, you will:

• Assist with the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems on mobile mining equipment
• Learn to diagnose faults using specialised diagnostic tools and equipment
• Support planned and breakdown maintenance activities
• Develop skills in reading electrical schematics and technical documentation
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety and environmental standards
• Work collaboratively with experienced tradespeople and operational teams
• Complete all apprenticeship and training requirements successfully

Qualifications

• Have a genuine interest in automotive electrical systems and heavy equipment
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety
• Are reliable, motivated and eager to learn
• Have good problem-solving and communication skills
• Can work effectively in a team environment
• Hold a current Driver's Licence or are working towards obtaining one
• Finishing Year 12 this year and looking for your next career opportunity

Previous mechanical, automotive or electrical experience is advantageous but not essential.
