  • Ensure all internal and external client requirements are met or exceeded.
  • Ensure efficient utilisation of laboratory materials.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment/instruments as required.
  • Maintain strict adherence to ISO 17025, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards.

Eurofins Environment Testing Australia is an Environmental testing network of fully accredited laboratories. With a staff of over 300 our laboratories are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and with Client Service Offices located in Adelaide, Darwin, Newcastle and Wollongong. Job Description

Full-time ongoing position based in Welshpool, WA

  • Monday to Friday

  • Extra 1.5% superannuation paid on top of the national standard rate

The Asbestos Analyst / Occupational Hygiene Technician role is primarily laboratory-based, with occasional periodic field work. You will conduct laboratory analysis in the Hazardous Materials laboratory, including asbestos identification in building materials and soils, and airborne fibre counting. In addition, you will assist the laboratory team by ensuring all samples are prepared and analysed in a timely manner, while supporting a range of laboratory duties to meet operational, customer, and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare samples for analysis in accordance with approved methods and requirements.

  • Perform routine analyses, validations, and project work efficiently and accurately.

  • Conduct analyses including:

    • Respirable fibre counting

    • Asbestos identification in building materials and soils

    • Inhalable and respirable dust (and associated airborne workplace contaminants)

    • Diesel particulate analysis

  • Carry out field sampling activities such as:

    • Airborne fibre monitoring

    • Respirable dust and crystalline silica monitoring

    • Inhalable dust monitoring

  • Ensure all internal and external client requirements are met or exceeded.

  • Ensure efficient utilisation of laboratory materials.
