What you'll do
- Lead a team of project officers to efficiently carry out and complete assigned R&R projects.
- Oversee project completion within the allocated budget and ensure the realization of design intents as provided by stakeholders.
- Fulfil all necessary project operational requirements and adhere to mandatory compliance regulations imposed by research activities.
- Provide custodial advice on user's requirements for project, encompassing their needs, preferences, desired timeline for completion, and the available funding sources.
- Lead in appointing and managing a team of consultants, including architects, engineers, and other professionals, to guide the project design process as required.
- Appointment of consultants to ensure accurate cost estimates and preparation of necessary documentation for tender procurement.
- Assume lead role in the tender process by soliciting and evaluating contractor bids, ultimately providing a recommendation for the contract award.
- Assess, manage and recommend changes to the project's scope or budget that may arise during construction.
- Regularly monitor the progress of the construction work to ensure the project stays on schedule and proactively identify any potential issues that may arise.
- Supervise the work being done on-site with team members to ensure the work is being carried out safely and to a high level of quality.
- Managing the construction contract, which entails managing payments, change orders, and other contractual obligations between the project team and the contractor.

You will be in the Projects team under the Office of Development & Facilities Management Department which oversees physical development, and maintenance of all University buildings and grounds in support of the academic, research and administrative functions of the University. In this role, you will be part of the Projects team to carry out renovation and upgrading of campus buildings and facilities.
Responsibilities:
