The Assistant Manager – Finance & Corporate Accounts will lead the finance function for all Indonesian group entities and act as the primary finance representative for Indonesia. The role will be responsible for financial reporting, statutory compliance, treasury, audit management, receivables collection, corporate accounting, stakeholder management, and leadership of the local finance team while ensuring alignment with Group policies and reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
A. Corporate Accounts
1. Finance Leadership
- Lead and manage the Indonesia Finance & Accounts team.
- Establish performance standards and ensure timely delivery of finance activities.
- Drive accountability and continuous improvement across finance processes.
- Develop succession planning and team capability.
2. Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
- Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing for Indonesian entities.
- Ensure timely submission of management reports and financial statements.
- Review trial balance, general ledger, balance sheet schedules, and P&L analysis.
- Present financial performance, trends, and key risks to management.
3. Corporate Accounting
- Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies and IFRS requirements.
- Review accounting treatment for complex transactions.
- Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
- Coordinate consolidation reporting requirements.
4. Treasury & Banking
- Oversee cash flow planning and working capital management.
- Authorize and review banking transactions and payment processes.
- Manage relationships with local and international banks.
- Ensure adequate funding across Indonesian entities.
5. Revenue, Billing & Collection Management
- Monitor management fee invoicing and collections.
- Review debtor ageing and collection strategies.
- Coordinate with operational and vessel management teams for timely recoveries.
- Drive reduction in overdue receivables.
6. Tax & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Indonesian tax regulations.
- Oversee VAT, Corporate Income Tax, WHT, payroll taxes, and statutory filings.
- Coordinate with tax advisors and authorities.
- Review tax assessments and support dispute resolution.
7. Audit Management
- Lead statutory audits and internal audits.
- Ensure timely completion of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
- Monitor closure of audit observations.
- Strengthen internal controls and governance framework.
8. Systems & Process Improvement
- Drive effective utilization of SAP S/4HANA and other finance systems.
- Manage financial workflows including AP, AR, expense management, and approvals.
- Lead automation and process transformation initiatives.
- Implement standard operating procedures and controls.
9. Business Partnering
- Act as finance advisor to Indonesia management.
- Support strategic decisions through financial analysis.
- Coordinate with Corporate Accounts, HR, Legal, Tax, Treasury, Procurement, and Operations teams.
- Support new entity setup, restructuring, mergers, and compliance initiatives.
B. Vessel Accounts:
1. Vessel Financial Reporting
- Prepare and share periodic vessel financial reports with vessel owners in accordance with agreed reporting timelines and formats.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of vessel financial information.
- Coordinate with internal teams to obtain the required financial data, invoices, supporting documents, and explanations.
- Review reports for accuracy and consistency before submission to owners.
- Respond to owner queries relating to vessel expenses, accounting entries, financial reports, and other accounting matters.
2. Fund Requests & Cash Management
- Prepare and raise fund requests for vessel-related expenses, including Budgeted expenses,Non-budgeted expenses, Pre-delivery expenses, Dry-dock expenses
- Ensure fund requests are accurate, complete, and supported by appropriate documentation and approvals.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders and vessel owners to ensure timely approval and receipt of funds.
- Monitor outstanding fund requests and proactively follow up on pending items.
- Ensure fund requirements are communicated to owners within agreed timelines.
3. New Vessel Takeovers & Owner Coordination
- Liaise with vessel owners during the takeover of new vessels to understand their accounting, reporting, and financial requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams during the vessel takeover process to ensure a smooth transition of accounting activities.
- Understand and document owner-specific accounting requirements, reporting formats, timelines, approval processes, and fund management procedures.
- Ensure agreed owner requirements are effectively communicated to the relevant internal teams and implemented.
- Support the finance team in establishing accounting processes and controls for newly taken-over vessels.
4. Balance Sheet Schedules & Ageing Management
- Prepare monthly balance sheet schedules and reconciliations for assigned vessels.
- Review outstanding and ageing items and identify discrepancies, unreconciled balances, and long-pending transactions.
- Follow up proactively with relevant departments and stakeholders for resolution of old ageing items.
- Ensure timely clearance and proper accounting treatment of outstanding balances.
- Maintain accurate supporting schedules and documentation for audit and management review.
- Highlight significant or long-outstanding items to management and ensure appropriate action is taken.
5. Customer Service & Owner Satisfaction
- Ensure customer/owner satisfaction by responding to queries in a timely, professional, and accurate manner.
- Understand customer requirements and provide clear and appropriate responses within agreed timelines.
- Coordinate with relevant internal teams to obtain accurate information and resolve customer queries effectively.
- Proactively follow up on pending issues and keep customers informed of progress until resolution.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with vessel owners and other key stakeholders.
6. Coordination with India (Chennai) Team & Process Implementation
- Coordinate closely with India team to understand new processes, systems, accounting procedures, and operational requirements.
- Ensure proper understanding of new processes and systems and effectively implement them within the Indonesia team.
- Support the transition and rollout of new processes, systems, and controls in Indonesia.
- Identify implementation challenges and coordinate with the India team for timely resolution and clarification.
- Ensure the team follows standardized processes and maintains consistency with the agreed operating model.
- Provide feedback to the India team on process improvements, operational challenges, and system-related issues.
- Support knowledge sharing and training within the Indonesia team whenever new processes or systems are introduced.
Educational Qualification
Mandatory
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
Preferred
- CA / CPA / ACCA / CMA / Indonesian Professional Accounting Qualification.
Experience
