[What the role is]
The Public Health Operational Policy Division (PHOPD) works to strengthen policies, processes and operational capabilities in the areas of sanitation and vector control to meet current and future challenges. PHOPD also ensures compliance with the cleaning industry licensing regime through audits, investigations, and enforcement.In the Sanitation and Industry Policy Department, you will be part of the team that regulates the cleaning industry to ensure it delivers quality services and contributes to a clean and liveable environment.
[What you will be working on]
You will be responsible for the following:
- Plan and conduct compliance audits and carry out investigations on cleaning businesses and service buyers
- Impose enforcement action on offenders
- Consolidate and analyse compliance statistics and trends
- Attend to feedback from cleaning businesses, service buyers, and other stakeholders
- Partner licensing and policy teams in the review and rollout of new or amended policies
- Plan and carry out co-regulatory outreach initiatives for stakeholders pertaining to the cleaning industry
- Any other tasks as assigned
[What we are looking for]
The ideal candidate would possess the following qualities:
- Strong interpersonal skills with good written and oral communication skills
- Good analytical reasoning and able to generate enforcement statistics, perform data synthesis and analysis.
- Possess strong critical thinking, meticulous, with problem-solving and project management skills, and able to multitask across assigned cases
- Mature and a good team member who is able to work independently
- Meticulous, resourceful and observant
- Able to travel to cleaning businesses’ offices and worksites
- A minimum of 2 years of working experience in public health would be an advantage
