  • Support the planning and delivery of highways and local transport projects in line with agreed scope, programme, budget and quality objectives.
  • Maintain project controls, including schedules, action trackers, risk registers, cost data and reporting packs.

  • Prepare progress updates, meeting records, change documentation and other client-facing materials.
  • Monitor delivery performance, identify emerging issues and support the implementation of appropriate corrective actions.

  • Excellent communicator with the desire to take on extra responsibilities and keep on developing your skills and our team.

  • Sound interpersonal skills and ability to converse with a wide range of Clients and colleagues across a number of engineering disciplines.

Overview

We are seeking Assistant Project Managers to join our team and support the successful delivery of highways and local transport projects across their full lifecycle. Our Transportation Division is currently seeking Assistant Project Managers in our Manchester office to support the delivery of a wide variety of multi-disciplinary highways projects within the north of England and the rest of the UK and Republic of Ireland. Using your excellent people, multi-disciplinary technical and delivery skills, you’ll drive a variety of civil and structural designs for new build, renewal, maintenance and assessment works.

You’ll be part of one of the largest transportation consultancies in the UK, and a leading supplier of engineering services to government, regulatory and local authorities, infrastructure owners and operators. Major clients include National Highways, Various Local Authorities, Network Rail, Train Operating Companies, Design & Build Contractors and other niche clients. We are looking to grow our project management / highways delivery and supervision capability in England, from where you will also have the opportunity to work with our internationally based design teams.

This role is ideally suited to someone with early project management or project support experience in infrastructure, engineering or transport who is ready to take the next step in their career and broaden their experience across scope, schedule, cost and quality management.

You will be supported to develop your skills while working across multiple tasks, maintaining project information, tracking actions and helping delivery teams meet programme, budget and quality expectations.
