Assistant Trainer- Beauty and Wellness

THF works with communities through direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organisations in India funded through THF USA and RIST.

Reporting To: Senior Project Coordinator

The Assistant Trainer – Beauty & Wellness will support the Trainer in delivering high-quality classroom and practical training under The Hans Foundation Livelihood   Skills Training Programme. The role involves assisting in conducting practical demonstrations, preparing training resources, maintaining laboratories, supporting trainee learning, ensuring documentation, and facilitating smooth execution of daily training activities. The Assistant Trainer will also mentor trainees, reinforce practical learning, and contribute to achieving programme quality, assessment, certification, and placement targets.

 Assist the Trainer in delivering theory and practical sessions as per the approved curriculum.

 Support practical demonstrations in hair care, skin care, makeup, manicure, pedicure, waxing, threading, nail care, and salon operations.

 Supervise trainees during practical sessions and ensure adherence to hygiene and safety standards.

 Prepare classrooms, laboratories, equipment, tools, consumables, and training materials before each session.

 Maintain cleanliness, organization, and functionality of the Beauty & Wellness practical laboratory.

 Monitor proper usage, storage, and maintenance of beauty tools, machines, and consumables.

 Assist in conducting practical assessments, mock tests, assignments, and trainee evaluations.

 Maintain trainee attendance, practical records, assessment documentation, inventory registers, and daily training reports.

 Provide individual guidance and additional practice support to trainees requiring

improvement.

 Support mobilization activities, counselling sessions, orientation programmes, and trainee registration.

 Assist in organizing guest lectures, industry visits, exposure visits, workshops, and placement activities.

 Coordinate with the Trainer and Centre Coordinator to ensure smooth implementation of the training schedule.

 Promote discipline, professional grooming, punctuality, and workplace ethics among trainees.

 Follow all project guidelines, quality standards, and reporting requirements.

 Perform any other duties assigned by the Trainer or Project Management Team.

 Good practical knowledge of Beauty & Wellness services and salon practices.

 Ability to assist in practical demonstrations and trainee supervision.

 Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

 Strong organizational and teamwork abilities.

 Basic classroom and laboratory management skills.

 Good documentation and record-keeping abilities.

 Basic computer knowledge (MS Office, email, and online reporting).

 Positive attitude, professional grooming, and willingness to learn.

 Certificate, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma in Beauty & Wellness, Cosmetology, Hair Dressing, Makeup, or a related discipline from a recognized institute (Mandatory).

 BWSSC certification or equivalent will be preferred.

 Minimum 6 Months–2 years of industry experience in salons, spas, beauty clinics, or wellness centres.

 Experience assisting in vocational training or skill development programmes will be an added advantage.

 Experience in NSDC, Skill India, CSR, or Government-funded skill development projects is desirable.

 Basic computer literacy is mandatory.

 Training of Trainers (ToT) Certification from BWSSC (Preferred).

 Experience working in Beauty, Wellness training centres.

 Exposure to NSDC/Skill India competency-based training programmes.

 Experience supporting practical assessments and certification activities.
