About the Role:
We are looking for an Application Developer who can build engaging, interactive, and easy-to-use web applications for learners. You will work on digital learning experiences that may include interactive lessons, simulations, assessments, games, dashboards, AI-powered experiences, learning journeys, and other web-based educational applications.
This role is suited for someone who enjoys converting ideas, designs, and learning concepts into polished applications that students can actually use.
You should be comfortable taking a feature from a design or prototype to a functional, responsive, production-ready experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build interactive web-based educational applications for students and learners.
- Convert Figma designs, prototypes, storyboards, and learning flows into functional web applications.
- Develop responsive applications that work well across mobile, tablet, and desktop devices.
- Build interactive components such as:
- Quizzes and assessments
- Learning activities
- Simulations
- Games and gamified interactions
- Progress trackers
- Interactive stories
- Dashboards
- Chat and AI-based interfaces
- Create smooth animations, transitions, feedback states, and micro-interactions that make learning experiences engaging.
- Integrate frontend applications with APIs and backend services.
- Work closely with UI/UX designers, product managers, learning designers, content teams, and backend developers.
- Ensure applications are fast, stable, accessible, and easy to use.
- Optimize applications for learners using different devices, screen sizes, and network conditions.
- Test applications across browsers and devices and resolve usability or performance issues.
- Write clean, reusable, and maintainable code.
- Participate in code reviews and follow good software development practices.
- Use analytics and application events to help teams understand how learners interact with the product.
- Experiment with new technologies and interaction patterns that can improve digital learning experiences.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience developing web applications.
- Experience building and shipping real-world frontend or web applications.
- A portfolio, GitHub profile, or examples of applications you have developed will be preferred.
Must-have skills:
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience with React.js or a similar modern frontend framework.
- Experience with TypeScript.
- Good understanding of responsive and web development.
- Ability to accurately convert UI designs into working applications.
- Experience working with REST APIs and integrating frontend applications with backend systems.
- Strong understanding of reusable components and frontend application architecture.
- Familiarity with Git and version control.
- Ability to debug and solve frontend performance and compatibility issues.
- Good understanding of UI/UX principles.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of features from development to deployment.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred skills:
Experience in any of the following will be an advantage:
- Next.js
- Tailwind CSS or similar frameworks
- Animation libraries such as Framer Motion or GSAP
- Gamification or game-like web experiences
- Interactive learning applications
- Learning Management Systems or EdTech products
- AI or chatbot interfaces
- WebSockets or real-time applications
- Accessibility standards for web applications
- Analytics tools and event tracking
- Progressive Web Apps
- Backend technologies such as Node.js
- Cloud platforms such as AWS
- Building applications for low-bandwidth or mobile-first environments
Experience working with education products is useful but not mandatory. More important is the ability to understand the learner experience and translate it into simple, engaging digital interactions.
