Job Description

Associate – Planning

Manchester | Hybrid

Cushman & Wakefield's North West Planning team is continuing to grow, creating an opportunity for an Associate Planner to join our Manchester office.

Working alongside an established NW team and a highly regarded team of planning professionals, you'll advise an enviable mix of clients across both the public and private sectors. This role offers genuine variety and the opportunity to influence some of the North West's most significant regeneration and development projects.

This is an organically created opportunity, reflecting the continued growth and success of the team.

The Opportunity

You'll take a leading role in delivering planning advice across a diverse portfolio of projects, working closely with colleagues across Land, Development & Planning and the wider Cushman & Wakefield business.

Projects span:

  • Town centre and strategic regeneration

  • Masterplanning and development frameworks

  • Planning applications and appeals

  • Public sector development strategies

  • Residential, commercial and mixed-use developments

  • Planning policy and site promotion

  • Stakeholder engagement and client relationship management

You'll enjoy significant client exposure from day one, with the autonomy to lead projects while helping to mentor junior colleagues and contribute to the continued growth of the team.

About You

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • MRTPI qualification

  • Strong consultancy or client-side planning experience

  • Experience managing planning projects from inception through delivery

  • Excellent report writing and communication skills

  • Commercial awareness and the confidence to build lasting client relationships

  • A collaborative approach and desire to contribute to business growth

  • Experience working with both public and private sector clients would be advantageous but isn't essential.

We foster a culture of inclusion that embraces the unique strengths, perspectives, and experiences of all our employees. We firmly believe that our diversity enhances our team's capabilities, leading to improved decision-making, innovation, and business outcomes. If you have any reservations about applying, please don't hesitate to reach out to your local recruiter for additional information.

Please note this is a direct search led by Cushman & Wakefield. We only work with recruitment agencies on our preferred supplier list, and only where a signed and in date agreement is in place and the agency has been directly instructed on the role by a member of our Talent Acquisition team.

We do not accept speculative or unsolicited CVs submitted to any of our employees or outside of our agreed process. No agency fees will be payable in these circumstances.

Cushman & Wakefield is an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer. All qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment without regard to ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, marital status, or any other legally protected characteristic. Cushman & Wakefield is committed to equity in employment, and our goal is to have a diverse, inclusive and barrier-free workplace. If you are a person with a disability and need any other accessible accommodations during the hiring process, you are invited to bring this to the Talent Acquisition Advisor’s attention once they have made contact.
