The ACE team is responsible for advising on, negotiating, and executing legal and regulatory trading documentation required for capital markets transactions globally. This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing team with significant exposure to senior business leaders and stakeholders across the organization.

Job Description

The successful candidate will independently manage a portfolio of clients and capital markets legal agreements throughout the deal origination lifecycle, supporting a range of Global Markets products. The role offers broad exposure to complex transactions, client engagement, and legal documentation across multiple products in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the negotiation and execution of a diverse portfolio of capital markets agreements across multiple jurisdictions and product lines, while ensuring alignment with legal, regulatory, risk, and governance requirements.
  • Advise clients on documentation requirements relating to capital markets transactions and onboarding activities.
  • Participate in client meetings and discussions, providing guidance on trading documentation and related regulatory considerations.
  • Partner with trading, sales, and origination teams to support new and existing transactions, providing advisory services on documentation requirements and associated implications.
  • Lead discussions with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel to resolve complex issues arising during negotiations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of trading documentation, including:
    • ISDA Master Agreements and Credit Support Documentation
    • GMRA, securities lending, and repo agreements
    • Prime Brokerage Agreements
    • Master Confirmation Agreements
    • Energy and Metals Agreements
    • Other bespoke capital markets documentation
  • Coordinate closely with internal partners including Legal, Credit, Tax, Operations, Funding & Valuation, Collateral Management, and front-office business teams throughout the documentation process.
  • Manage and escalate documentation-related issues to facilitate timely resolution and stakeholder alignment.
  • Support business development and origination efforts through participation in client meetings and industry engagement opportunities.
  • Provide regular updates and reporting to business stakeholders, including desk heads and senior management.
  • Contribute to automation, process improvement, and strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency, controls, and regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact on trading documentation matters for internal stakeholders.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB/JD) or equivalent legal qualification required.
  • 6-8+ years of experience in legal documentation, capital markets, derivatives documentation, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of capital markets products, including derivatives, fixed income, and/or equities products.
  • Proven experience negotiating and advising on ISDA documentation; familiarity with GMRA documentation is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience in a client-facing environment, with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to balance business objectives against legal, regulatory, and risk considerations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage competing priorities and work independently while collaborating effectively across global teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with attention to detail and sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and support stakeholders across global time zones when required.
  • Proven leadership skills, including the ability to manage projects, drive initiatives, and deliver results within tight timelines.
