Automation Controls Technician/Installer

About this role

Seeking an experienced Automation Controls Technician/Installer for a direct hire position with our client in Waterford, CT

Pay: $48 - $55 per hour (based on experience)

Responsibilities

  • Install conduit, low-voltage wiring, and BAS control components.
  • Mount, wire, label, and terminate sensors, relays, actuators, and other control devices.
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Assist with system startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and owner training.
  • Prepare as-built documentation.
  • Coordinate work with other trades and attend project meetings as needed.
  • Maintain required licenses and certifications.
  • Follow all safety policies and use required PPE.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and team members.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to complete projects efficiently.
  • Work overtime, varied shifts, and travel occasionally as needed.
Qualifications
  • Connecticut E2 or L6 License required.
  • High school diploma or technical school certificate preferred.
  • 2–5 years of BAS, controls, or electrical installation experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong communication, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces.
  • Regular lifting of up to 50 lbs.; occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to safely perform physical work while using required personal protective equipment.
