  • Wire, install, test, and verify operation of avionics equipment and accessories; identify and correct electronics failures using hand tools, test equipment, technical documents, and technical reference materials
  • Modify existing wire harnesses and new wire harness fabrication
  • Assure that installations are done in accordance with procedures described in FAA Regulations and manufacturer instructions
  • Use sound judgment and technical aptitude to make good decisions regarding job sequence and techniques, troubleshooting and discrepancy resolution
  • Be able to climb ladders, apply finger and hand dexterity in using hand tools, be able to move around the shop/hangar area and within aircraft continuously throughout the workday

About Billings Flying Service

Billings Flying Service (BFS) is a solutions provider for the aviation industry, specializing in CH-47 aerial firefighting and heavy lift services. The BFS fleet of CH-47Ds, one UH-60A, and light helicopers are capable of fighting wildfires by either bucket or tank.

About the Role

The Avionics Specialty Mechanic will be responsible for supporting avionics repairs and maintenance on multiple aircraft platforms during field operations and under a Part 145 repair station. This position is a field position and reports to the Helicopter Program Manager. Travel will be required based on company needs.
