Full description from employer

If you’re looking for a career that will help you stand out, join HSBC, and fulfil your potential - whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or an exciting new direction, we offer opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.

We’re one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with a network that covers more than 50 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.

As an Assistant Vice President in Capital Markets and Advisory (CMA) Business Risk, Europe you’ll support the Europe CMA Business Risk leadership team to proactively manage non-financial and financial risks across the CMA product portfolio in line with the HSBC Risk Management Framework. The role helps protect customers and the firm by strengthening oversight, improving controls and ensuring issues are identified, governed and escalated clearly. You’ll deliver defined risk workstreams such as risk assessment and oversight, remediation of control issues, internal read-across and responses to external trigger events and regulatory change.

This role sits at the centre of how CMA in Europe identifies risk early, governs issues well and follows through to closure. You’ll have the scope to shape how workstreams are delivered, how MI tells the story and how governance supports clear decisions within risk appetite. If you’re looking to apply risk expertise in a fast-moving Capital Markets & Advisory environment with close partnership across the first, second and third lines of defence we’d welcome your application.

Success means early risk identification and high-quality assessment, disciplined action tracking to closure and timely escalation that supports decision-making within risk appetite.

As an HSBC employee in the UK, you’ll have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.
