Would you like to be part of a high-growth team focused on increasing the adoption of Amazon Web Services to make a meaningful impact in the Higher Education market? Do you have the business savvy and technical background necessary to help establish Amazon as a key technology platform provider for large Research Universities? Amazon Web Services is expanding in the U.S. Public Sector market, and the Education team within Amazon offers a creative, fast paced, entrepreneurial work environment where you’ll be at the center of Amazon innovation for administrators, faculty, researchers, and students.

We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Sales Representative to focus on Research 1 (R1) Higher Education institutions in Maryland. The ideal candidate has sales experience in this vertical with a terrific reputation for overachieving quota while focusing on the customer. They should also be a self-starter who is prepared to develop and execute against a territory plan and consistently deliver on quarterly targets. The ideal candidate will possess both a sales and technical background that enables them to drive an engagement at the CXO level, as well as, with IT architects and leaders. The Enterprise Sales Representative will be an exceptionally strong and creative thinker who thrives in a team environment and embraces all aspects of selling. They must be able to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment and have very strong verbal and written communication skills.

This role must be located in Washington, DC metro.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

About the team
The role will be working exclusively with a select number of Higher Education customers across Maryland to include Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland College Park, University of Maryland Baltimore and Space Telescope Science Institute.

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of full sales cycle, technology sales or equivalent business development, sales engineering/consulting or equivalent experience
- Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software
- Experience driving new business in greenfield accounts at the C-suite level or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and sales incentives. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
