In the past six years, Visa has established a team to focus on the global B2B travel ecosystem. The team is responsible for developing and managing key travel intermediary clients globally and building out a best-in-class product suite specifically for the industry. The team has successfully built commercial relationships with travel players including issuers, merchants, GDSs, fintechs and travel integrators and continue to expand coverage globally.

What a B2B Travel Director, Airline Acceptance, AP does at Visa:

This is a unique opportunity to join one of Visa’s most strategically important growth areas, focused on accelerating airline acceptance, expanding B2B travel payment volume, and strengthening Visa’s role as a trusted advisor across the airline payments ecosystem.

Reporting to the Head of Global Partnerships, with a dotted line to the Global Head of B2B Acceptance, this role will lead Visa’s airline acceptance strategy across Asia Pacific. It will focus on expanding commercial acceptance with airlines and turning complex ecosystem opportunities into measurable commercial outcomes.

The Director will represent Visa internally and externally to the airline industry across Asia Pacific and will be responsible for:

  • Lead Visa’s airline acceptance strategy across Asia Pacific, aligned with the global airline acceptance agenda.

  • Build and deepen senior relationships with priority airlines and ecosystem partners.

  • Identify, size, and progress B2B airline acceptance opportunities across accepting and non-accepting airlines.

  • Manage a regional pipeline, including opportunity sizing, stakeholder mapping, risks, next steps, and executive reporting.

  • Act as a regional subject matter expert on airline B2B payments, virtual card acceptance, cost of acceptance, authorisation performance, fraud, chargebacks, settlement, reconciliation, agency flows, OTA/TMC models, and airline acceptance policies.

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across Visa and external ecosystem partners to shape and develop practical commercially scalable airline acceptance strategies, influencing market adoption, client outcomes, and long-term business growth.

  • Drive strategic airline and partner engagement through data-driven insights, including market opportunity assessment, transaction analytics, benchmark insights, decline insights and deal modelling to inform executive decision-making and accelerate revenue growth.

  • Represent Visa externally at airline, travel, and payments industry forums across Asia Pacific.

Why this is important to Visa

Visa's Global Travel team is a unique, high-growth business at the intersection of payments and the travel ecosystem. As a relatively new team with a global remit, we partner with leading travel intermediaries, fintechs, issuers, merchants and industry stakeholders to develop innovative payment solutions and drive the adoption of new payment flows. The team plays a critical role in advancing one of Visa's key growth priorities while supporting strategic clients on high-impact initiatives that strengthen Visa's brand as a purpose-led organization delivering economic and social value worldwide.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in payments, financial services, or related industries.

  • Proven ability to develop and execute growth strategies, identify new business opportunities, and influence senior stakeholders across complex, matrixed organizations.

  • Strong understanding of the airline, travel, and B2B payments ecosystem in Asia Pacific, including areas such as airline acceptance, virtual cards, OTAs/TMCs, issuer and acquiring models, and payment economics.

  • Demonstrated success in originating, negotiating, and managing complex commercial partnerships and strategic initiatives from concept through implementation and optimization.

  • Established senior-level relationships across the Asia Pacific travel and payments ecosystem, including airlines, travel intermediaries, issuers, acquirers, fintechs, and industry partners.

  • Ability to interpret data, assess market opportunities, develop business cases, evaluate pricing and commercial models, and translate insights into actionable client strategies.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to engage senior clients, represent Visa externally, and drive alignment across regional and global teams.

  • Strong executive communication skills — written, verbal, and presentation — with the ability to explain complex commercial, technical, and payment concepts clearly.

What will also help:

  • Willingness to travel across Asia Pacific and, where required, globally for client meetings, partner engagements, workshops, and industry events.
