Responsibilities
- The role works closely with other SAP platform areas including Security/GRC, ABAP, Integration, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Enterprise Architecture teams.
- Own the SAP Basis service and ensure delivery of stable, secure, and reliable SAP platform services through managed service providers.
- Govern vendor performance, service quality, SLAs, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide SAP Basis architecture leadership and technical governance for platform changes, projects, and transformation programs.
- Oversee SAP landscape strategy, lifecycle management, upgrades, migrations, and platform modernization initiatives.
- Ensure effective management of incidents, problems, changes, risks, and service escalations.
- Drive platform availability, performance, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity readiness.
- Ensure compliance with security, audit, regulatory, and enterprise technology standards.
- Collaborate with SAP Security, GRC, ABAP, Integration, Infrastructure, and Enterprise Architecture teams on cross-functional initiatives.
- Support SAP S/4HANA, cloud, and other strategic transformation programs by providing Basis expertise and governance.
- Manage stakeholder communications, executive reporting, vendor governance reviews, and service improvement roadmaps.
Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 17+ years of experience in SAP Basis administration, platform operations, and SAP technology landscapes.
- 5+ years of experience in SAP service management, vendor governance, or managed services environments.
- Strong expertise in SAP Basis architecture across SAP ECC, S/4HANA, SAP HANA, SAP Fiori, and SAP cloud technologies.
- Proven experience managing outsourced SAP Basis services and driving vendor accountability against SLAs, KPIs, and contractual obligations.
- Experience providing architectural oversight for SAP upgrades, migrations, cloud adoption, and transformation initiatives.
- Solid understanding of SAP platform integration points with Security/GRC, ABAP, Infrastructure, Database, and Integration services.
- Working knowledge of ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, Change, Release, and Service Level Management.
- Experience in SAP landscape strategy, high availability, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and operational resilience.
- Experience supporting large-scale SAP transformation programs such as S/4HANA migrations, cloud transformations, or platform modernization projects.
