Billing Specialist

City Wide is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Billing Specialist to provide high-quality bookkeeping, billing, and accounting support to our franchise network. In this role, you will manage consolidated billing accounts, deliver full-charge bookkeeping services for multiple franchise locations, and serve as a trusted resource for franchise owners and their teams.

The ideal candidate has strong accounting fundamentals, exceptional accuracy, confidence working in accounting software, and the ability to balance multiple priorities while providing outstanding internal and external customer service.

What You’ll Do

• Create, maintain, and support consolidated billing accounts for franchise locations.
• Perform full-charge bookkeeping services for multiple franchisees, including preparation of income statements and other financial reports.
• Reconcile accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash, and other financial records to ensure complete and accurate reporting.
• Provide accounting software training and ongoing hotline support to franchise owners and their employees.
• Build positive working relationships with franchise owners, internal City Wide support teams, and external contacts.
• Review accounting policies and procedures and recommend practical process improvements.
• Prepare selected internal financial reports and assist with financial analysis as needed.
• Support audit activities related to franchisee accounting records.
• Develop and improve best practices for outsourced bookkeeping services and accounting software usage.
• Maintain organized, accurate, and timely documentation in accordance with company procedures.

How Success Is Measured

This role is highly focused on accuracy, responsiveness, and timely completion of billing activity. Key performance expectations include:

• Timely Billing: Complete 99% of billing on time.
• Billing Accuracy: Maintain 99.99999% accuracy across all billing.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Associate degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field; equivalent relevant work experience will also be considered.
• At least 2–3 years of full-charge accounting, bookkeeping, billing, or closely related experience.
• Experience preparing financial statements, including income statements.
• Strong understanding of accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash reconciliation, and general bookkeeping practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and automated accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to produce highly accurate work.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Customer-service mindset with the ability to support franchise owners while following established company procedures.
• Strong communication skills and comfort explaining accounting software and processes to users with varying levels of experience.
• Ability to manage multiple accounts, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
