Position Overview:  

A Part and Prep Professional will ensure that we are driving a clean and damaged free part mold to drive excellent quality to our Parts. This is an essential position to production to create the unsinkable legend! Working in part and prep, you will be responsible for prepping molds which includes cleaning the molds using the proper materials. Once the molds are formed you will be responsible for parting the molds and ensuring that there is no damage that occurs in this process. You will need to know how to operate a fork truck as well and overhead cranes. Keeping the area clean and free of debris is essential to keeps the molds free of debris.

Essential Functions:

• Part and Prep a variety of hull and small parts molds following specifications and instructions.
• Ensure parting of mold without damage.
• Prep molds with proper materials.
• Clean top of molds of scrap material.
• Clean flange of molds before applying grease.
• Wax molds for Gel coating.
• Place hulls on proper dollies.
• Clean plugs and plug holes after parting.
• Ensure parting tool are in operating order.
• Operate fork truck and overhead crane.
• Move molds in and out bays per schedule.
• Store molds in designated area and cover.
• Clean up bays after parting molds.
• Move molds in a way not to cause damage.
• Perform departmental housekeeping.
• Follows daily production schedule to complete in a timely manner.
• Makes sure all work is performed in a safe manner.
• May perform other duties as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements will include eye protection, dust masks, respirators, hearing protection, gloves, and protective suits
• Ability to work a 10+ hour shift standing, bending, reaching
• Moderate lifting ability up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment (may be above 100 ambient degrees or below 10 ambient degrees in areas of production)
• Ability to work in a fiberglass dust environment and a fast paced, noisy environment
• Ability to work overtime (planned and unplanned)

 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Must follow all safety and quality standards at all times, including chemical handling standards and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• Must be able to operate all equipment associated with job functions.
• Must use judgment when moving molds.
• Must complete classroom and on the job training.
• Uses judgment in performing process requirements to meet established deadlines.
• Must be able to detect mold defects.
• Must keep tools in good working order.
• Basic skills in forklift, overhead hoist, and computer skills preferred
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions
• Ability to work with fellow coworkers in close proximity and in a team environment displaying mutual respect
• Ability to read and  interpret and/or understand instructions given verbally or written and exchange accurate information with others.

**Weekend Shift Premium and Night Shift Differential:  Employees will receive a weekend shift premium when they work on either a Saturday or Sunday as part of their shift. Employees will receive a night shift differential if they are working night shift.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $17.56 to $26.70, hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.

At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
