Building Security Officer | Part-Time | PPG Paints Arena

The Building Security Officer position has a commitment to excellence in guest service while providing necessary safety and security support to guests visiting the PPG Paints Arena. This position will staff the Employee Entrance and the Command Post. 

 

This role will pay an hourly rate of $19.50.

As a leading entertainment venue, PPG Paints Arena is the regional epicenter for athletic events, concerts, and family shows in Western Pennsylvania and home to the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins.

• Deliver superior guest service while ensuring proper building and governmental protocols are being followed.
• Respond to requests for assistance from staff and visitors for a variety of security issues (fire, medical emergencies, etc.)
• Ensure all safety and building guidelines are being followed, and proper security checks are conducted during guest entry.
• Assist in the control and safety of all guests that visit the facility.
• Ensure crowd control stays at a reasonable level and assist in emergency situations and conflicts as needed.
• Interact with the public and all levels of management and fellow employees.
• Enforce rules and regulations of the facility.
• Provide directional assistance, as needed, by being knowledgeable about locations throughout the facility.
• Provide professionalism, courtesy, and respect to all guests and fellow employees.
• Provide shift breaks for guards located at entrance gates as needed.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Prior security experience required; experience in a large venue is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.
• Ability to work during daylight, evening, overnight, holidays, and weekends.
• Ability to interact with all levels of staff, including management.
• Must maintain a neat and professional appearance that conveys professionalism at all times.
• Professional business attire required when working at all events.
