Business Analyst – Operating Model & Digital Transformation

Rate: £550 per day
IR35: Outside IR35
Duration: Initial 3 months, with potential to extend up to 12 months
Location: Predominantly remote, with occasional workshops in London or the North of England
Clearance: Active SC clearance is mandatory

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support a transformation programme within a complex enterprise environment.

This is a broad BA role combining traditional business analysis with operating model design, digital transformation and strategic advisory work. The successful candidate will be comfortable working across the full delivery lifecycle, from discovery and requirements gathering through to future-state design, implementation and benefits realisation.

You will work closely with business, technology and operational stakeholders to understand current ways of working, identify improvement opportunities and help shape practical future-state solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Lead requirements gathering through workshops, interviews, process mapping and stakeholder engagement.
Analyse current-state processes and identify opportunities for improvement, automation and digital enablement.
Produce clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, data flows and supporting documentation.
Design and document current and future-state operating models.
Support the definition of service models, governance structures, organisational capabilities and process architectures.
Contribute to digital and technology strategy development.
Develop business cases, benefits assessments, cost models and ROI analysis.
Create implementation roadmaps and prioritisation frameworks.
Support testing, UAT, traceability and implementation activities.
Assess opportunities for AI, automation and self-service within business processes.
Work with stakeholders to understand organisational and workforce impacts of transformation.
Required Experience
Must hold active SC clearance. Candidates without current SC clearance cannot be considered.
Strong end-to-end Business Analysis experience.
Demonstrable experience designing and implementing Target Operating Models.
Background working within transformation, consulting or change-heavy environments.
Experience contributing to digital, technology or operating model strategy.
Strong process modelling experience, ideally including BPMN 2.0.
Experience producing business cases, benefits analysis and financial assessments.
Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
Experience working across Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery environments.
Understanding of automation, AI-enabled processes or low-code technologies.
Experience supporting organisational design, governance or capability transformation.
Tools & Technologies

Experience with some of the following would be beneficial:

BPMN 2.0, UML, service blueprinting and capability modelling
ServiceNow, Halo or other enterprise service management platforms
Jira, Azure DevOps and Confluence
Miro, Visio, Lucidchart or Figma
Power BI and Excel
SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and PowerPoint
Low-code, automation or AI-enabled platforms
