The consulting firm is seeking a Business Analyst for a 6-month hybrid contract based in Wokingham (3 days in the office) within the utilities sector. The role focuses on working closely with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and translate complex business requirements into functional specifications, supporting the delivery of business and technology solutions in a secure, regulated environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the elicitation, documentation, and validation of business and functional requirements, ensuring full traceability from inception through delivery
• Translate business needs into detailed user stories, process flows, and functional specifications
• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and requirement review sessions across cross-functional teams
• Apply strong utilities domain knowledge across billing, metering, asset management, and customer operations to support transformation initiatives
• Bridge the gap between business teams and technical delivery teams within utility environments
• Support Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
• Analyse business and operational data to identify trends, define KPIs, and drive process optimisation
• Ensure all delivered solutions align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and security standards
• Support audits, governance reviews, and compliance documentation in line with SC clearance requirements

Skills/Must Have:

• SC clearance or SC eligibility - mandatory requirement
• Proven senior-level Business Analyst experience within the utilities sector (energy, gas, or water)
• Strong expertise in requirements gathering, process mapping, and functional documentation
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools - JIRA, Confluence, or equivalent
• Understanding of utilities systems including billing platforms, CRM, and MDM
• Experience in data analysis using Excel, SQL, or BI tools

• Duration: 6 months
• Location: Wokingham (Hybrid - 2 days on-site)

Salary:

• £425 per day
