My client, a well-established and growing not-for-profit organisation in Northern Ireland, is hiring a Business Systems & Digital Innovation Lead to join its Corporate Services / Transformation team. This is a key position within the organisation, responsible for driving systems optimisation, digital process improvement and automation across multiple business functions.

You will be part of an organisation committed to improving the services it provides through the effective use of technology, digital solutions and continuous improvement. Working closely with senior leadership, IT, operational teams and external technology partners, you will play a key role in identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and reporting.

As a Business Systems & Digital Innovation Lead, you will assess the functionality of core business systems, identify opportunities to optimise existing platforms and lead initiatives to digitise and automate manual processes. You will work across departments to understand business requirements, identify gaps and translate technology capabilities into practical solutions.

You will also be responsible for reviewing reporting processes, identifying opportunities for automation and helping develop more efficient data and reporting frameworks. The role will involve working closely with system vendors, internal stakeholders and senior management to deliver improvements that provide measurable operational value.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Review and assess the functionality of core business and operational systems.
• 
  Identify underutilised functionality and opportunities to maximise existing technology investments.
• 
  Conduct system and process gap analysis and make recommendations for improvement.
• 
  Support the implementation of new system modules, upgrades and configuration changes.
• 
  Identify opportunities to digitise paper-based and manual processes.
• 
  Lead digital process redesign and workflow improvement initiatives.
• 
  Identify opportunities to automate reporting and management information.
• 
  Develop and improve automated data and reporting processes.
• 
  Research new technology and business application solutions.
• 
  Benchmark digital capabilities and make recommendations for future investment.
• 
  Support the development of business cases for new or replacement systems.
• 
  Promote strong data quality, information management and governance practices.
• 
  Develop training materials and provide support to business users.
• 
  Deliver training and support successful adoption of new systems and digital processes.
• 
  Work closely with internal departments, IT teams and external suppliers.
• 
  Provide regular updates and recommendations to senior management and the Board.
• 
  Support the wider Digital Transformation Strategy and identify emerging technology opportunities.

The Person

• 
  Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
• 
  Extensive experience working with core business systems.
• 
  Experience evaluating systems, testing upgrades and implementing new system functionality.
• 
  Strong experience in business process improvement and workflow optimisation.
• 
  Experience identifying opportunities for digitalisation and automation.
• 
  Strong analytical and data reporting skills.
• 
  Experience working with stakeholders across multiple departments.
• 
  Experience delivering training and supporting digital adoption.
• 
  Ability to translate complex system functionality into practical business solutions.
• 
  Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
• 
  Experience working with enterprise-level business systems would be advantageous.
• 
  Project management qualification or relevant project delivery experience would be desirable.
• 
  Experience delivering cross-departmental digital transformation initiatives would be advantageous.
• 
  Experience within the housing, public sector, regulated or not-for-profit sector would be beneficial.
