About this role

Our Client a Zambian company dealing in wildlife conservation, tourism and hospitality, that also promotes community development through job creation, sustainable use projects, including sustainable agriculture and livelihood programmes with neighbouring communities, is looking to hire a Camp Supervisor to join the team. The Camp Supervisor is fully responsible for the requirements of this position and will be accountable to the Head of Tourism.

General purpose of Job role

The following are the key performance areas: 

  • Management and training of the lodge staff in line with the company standards 
  • Ensure ultimate guest relations in the lodge and that the “at home” personal attention levels are maintained.
  • Maintain the highest standards of housekeeping and maintenance and ensure that style and design is not eroded. 
  • Effective financial management through the administration of orders and effective stock control. 
  • Effective communication and maintenance of lodge relations, facilities and equipment.
  • Manage general health and safety requirements of the lodge. 
  • Streamline the Service process for check-in and check-out.

Requirements

  • Qualification in Hotel Management or equivalent. 
  • A minimum of 5 year’s work experience, with 3 years in management at a well- recognized five-star hotel or world class lodge.
  • Exceptional Food and Beverage operations knowledge
  • A hardworking, co-operative manner with a strong leadership presence for people and service management.
  • Must understand Labour Laws and Hospitality Act Requirements in the Zambian context.
  • High standards of service excellence and a passion for the industry. 
  • Attention to detail.
  • Exceptional command of English and a Local language.
  • Good computer literacy in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent management ability and communication skills. 
  • A clear understanding of basic labour law and disciplinary procedures within the hospitality industry
  • A developmental approach to staff relations..
  • Assertiveness, patience, and good organizational and communication skills. 
  • Understanding of housekeeping and maintenance procedures. 
  • An awareness of developments within the food and lodge industry 
  • Experience of stock controls and management of month-to-month stock take. 
  • Forward thinking and takes initiative. 
  • Driver’s license is essential.
