Location – Various locations across in Adelaide, Darwin and Alice Springs.
About the role:
Aurizon is seeking qualified Locomotive Drivers for casual opportunities across various locations in Adelaide, Darwin and Alice Springs.
As a casual Locomotive Driver with Aurizon, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating locomotives, supporting freight movements across our rail network. You will work within a supportive, safety-conscious team, striving for operational excellence and maintaining the highest service standards.
- Operation of locomotives including mainline, shunting, and marshalling.
- Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.
- Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures.
- Maintain a high level of on-time running.
- Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives.
- Provide high quality customer service to enable Aurizon to meet its set business objectives.
About you:
- Strong commitment to safety and Aurizon’s safety strategy “I Know Safe, I Choose Safe.”
- Availability to work a 24/7 shift roster.
- Experience in Safe Working systems is advantageous.
- Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience.
- Freight Train Driver qualifications.
- Current unrestricted driver’s licence.
