What you'll do

  • Manage and coordinate with global sourcing team on annual PPV Budget and quarterly PPV forecast for API and Excipient for Carole Park site; report PPV actual and analysis on variance on monthly basis.
  • Provide analytical and project management support and leadership to launch preparation, commercial procurement and cost reduction activities within the strategic API and Excipient procurement program.
  • Research and gather market data related to APIs and Excipients. Analyse market conditions and the impact on specific products as they relate to API and Excipient requirements and/or pricing.
  • Assist in the management of the strategic procurement function in Australia. Connect, communicate and collaborate on a regular basis with the various global sites on a continuous basis
  • Identify alternative source for key API and Excipient to mitigate supply risk and/or cost saving purpose.
  • Coordinate with the Global sourcing team on supplier relationship management for strategic/key API and Excipient suppliers. Includes but limited to regularly contact, meet, travel to and negotiate with API and Excipient vendors and manufacturers. Lead in the oversight and management of regional supplier relationships.
  • Responsible for handling commercial API and excipient related issues. Work closely with Finance, Pricing & Contracts, Sales and Marketing, Production Planning/Inventory Control, Manufacturing, Quality, Receiving, and Regulatory Affairs. Interact with additional internal personnel on a regular basis with regard to price negotiations, deliveries, shipments, availability, quality, specifications, transportation, TGA, FDA, and Customs matters.
  • Review and analyse the API price impact in response to customer bids and new business opportunities; provide feedback to Pricing & Contracts
  • Prepare and maintain various databases, reports, and metrics related to API and Excipient procurement
  • Report on monthly basis any critical API and Excipient supply issue/interruption, Out of Stock/Potential Out of Stock issues, any highlight/lowlight on supplier performance or price change.

Currently our Carole Park team is seeking a Category Manager to join the Viatris Sourcing team!

Based at our Carole Park site, this role will be responsible for providing sourcing, procurement and project management support for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) and Excipient strategic procurement program for our operations in Australia and Globally as required.
